Les boules de Tamina de Maman ZL ( pour celles qui ont accouché)

Tamina's balls from Maman ZL (for those who have given birth)

This recipe, which I learned from my mother, may her memory be a blessing, is known to many, but many have lost it. So I'm sharing it with you in memory of my mother, Louise Yoheved Bat Noira Shoshana. She always told me it was very good for women who had just given birth and also for those who wanted to breastfeed. I was fortunate enough to eat it during my own labors when my parents visited me during those unique moments in a woman's life.

Ingredients :

1 kg of fine semolina

250g of honey

1 whole butter

Cinnamon for those who like it!

Preparation :

In a pan, fry the fine semolina (Kabyles use medium) until golden brown, then remove from the heat and let cool. Meanwhile, melt the butter and honey over low heat, then gradually whisk the cooled semolina into the butter and honey mixture until it thickens into a creamy consistency.

Remove, then pour into a container and form into balls and sprinkle with a little cinnamon (for those who like it)!

Tip: I cool my hands several times when shaping the balls because it's very hot!
