Say goodbye to the pizza delivery guy, you can now make pizza at home just like the pros with an excellent method for rolling out the dough into a thin and perfect circle!
Quantity: 2 large pizzas
For baking pizzas: a pizza baking dish (with holes) approximately 35/36 cm in diameter or an inverted baking dish lined with baking paper
A 250 ml measuring cup
Ingredients:
Dough:
1/2 kg of sifted flour (500 grams)
1 tablespoon of dry yeast
1 tablespoon of sugar
1/2 tablespoon of salt
1 tablespoon of olive oil
1 1/3 cups of water
Sauce:
1 jar of crushed tomatoes (400g) or canned whole tomatoes, or chopped tomatoes in a blender
1/2 tablespoon of tomato paste
2 crushed garlic cloves
1 tablespoon of olive oil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon of sugar
1 teaspoon of salt, or to taste
1/4 teaspoon of black pepper, or to taste
300 grams of grated yellow cheese
200 grams of grated mozzarella cheese
(Cheeses are best bought in chunks and grated at home!)
a little olive oil to spread on the edge of the dough
Preparation:
Dough:
In the mixing bowl, put all the dry ingredients, flour, yeast, salt and sugar, mix a little.
Add the olive oil and water and knead the dough for about 10 minutes. The dough should be smooth and soft.
Remove the dough from the mixer bowl and divide it into two parts. Form two balls of dough.
Place the two balls of dough on a lightly greased mold and also grease the surface of the dough so that it does not dry out.
Cover the balls with plastic wrap and let them rise for about an hour and a half to two hours until they have doubled in size. Meanwhile, prepare the sauce.
Sauce:
Add all the sauce ingredients to the bowl and stir.
Pizza preparation:
One hour before spreading the pizza, turn on the baking oven to the highest heat and put a baking stone (plate) on top to keep it warm.
After the dough has risen, take a ball of dough, cover it well with flour on all sides, also flour the work surface, open the dough to round a pizza in your hands or with a rolling pin and place the dough on a pizza baking disc or an inverted baking sheet with parchment paper.
Spread half the sauce over the dough using a ladle, sprinkle with half the cheese and add a drizzle of olive oil.
Place in a hot oven for about 15 minutes or until the cheeses are bubbling and oozing and the edges of the pizza are lightly browned.
The same thing should be done with other pizza doughs.
Cut into triangles and enjoy.
A cup corresponds to 250 ml when I mention "cup" in my recipes. Here are two tables that will help you with your conversions if you don't have a cup!
