This year is a disaster! Passover starts right after Shabbat, and we don't know whether to eat bread or not. What should we do with all our dishes from this year, and what should we eat?
Don't panic, it's actually not complicated!
This year, Passover 2021, the holiday will begin this Saturday, March 27th, and end on Saturday, April 3rd (for those living in Israel). So, add one day for our friends outside the country: Sunday, April 4th for the French, Belgians, Congolese…lol
Finally, before the start of your Shabbat (so Friday night), it will already be Passover…but not really!
Your dishes will be kosher for Passover, and your meal too. To help with organization, return all your Passover items starting Wednesday so you can cook! Everything else will be in the attic and sold that same day! It won't be possible to do that during Shabbat!
By the way, a little message to the Moroccans…it's the same thing for Mimouna, we don't prepare Mimouna until the Passover festival is over, so no touching of Hamets before the arrival of the three stars in the sky, this Sunday April 4th and Saturday April 3rd for the Zionists!
So on Friday evening, you'll have to eat with your Passover or disposable dishes (I don't like them, they're not eco-friendly!), and recite the blessings on the balcony. If you don't have a balcony, go to your neighbor's! Just kidding!
Just don't eat the Motzi over your Passover dishes, and please...no need for challah, a pita will suffice, and a kazait too! No need to make a falafel pita, just a quarter of the pita to be able to say birkat!
Then continue your meal after placing the remaining pieces of pitot in a tightly sealed bag!
The following Saturday, no more pita or chametz should be eaten after 10:45 AM! And any leftover pieces of bread must be flushed down the toilet before 11:45 AM. I know this shocks you, it shocks me too… but it's not a big deal, is it? Don't try to understand, just get rid of that chametz!
Then go play Rummikub, or go to sleep, and then on Saturday night the end of slavery (Passover) will begin, you can sit back and let your husband organize your Passover evening!
PS: I advise you to buy pitot tubes now and freeze them, because there's going to be a tsunami of pitot tube purchases…
Happy holidays everyone!
