Fried mushroom rice, there's no way in the world you won't love it 🍄
Worcester sauce is needed here, my dears, and if you can't find it, soy sauce is an excellent substitute.
Fried mushroom rice
Ingredients :
Chopped medium onion
2 baskets of fresh mushrooms / portabello mushrooms – sliced
3 tablespoons of olive oil
2 crushed garlic cloves
One and a half cups of basmati rice
2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce
A level teaspoon of salt
1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
A spoonful of onion powder
3 chopped green onions
2 1/2 cups of hot water
Preparation :
Heat a saucepan with 2 tablespoons of oil and fry a basket of mushrooms until the mushrooms release liquid and shrink.
Take them out and reserve them.
Heat another tablespoon of oil and fry the onion until golden brown.
Add the crushed garlic and mushrooms from the other basket
Add the black pepper and Worcestershire onion powder.
Add the rice and mix.
Add the boiling water and mix. Bring to a boil (when the water is boiling), reduce the heat, cover the pot and cook for 20 minutes.
Open the pan and add the fried mushrooms and green onions
Turn off the heat and leave the pan covered for another 5 minutes.
A cup corresponds to 250 ml when I mention "cup" in my recipes. Here are two tables that will help you with your conversions if you don't have a cup!
